Ben Neill is a graduate and former captain at Samford University, where he helped lead the Bulldogs to their first Southern Conference championship while playing under head coach and Heisman Trophy winner Pat Sullivan. He  played quarterback under some of the top offensive minds in college football, including Rhett Lashlee and Travis Trickett. A 2010 graduate of Decatur High School (AL), Neill was a three-year starter at quarterback, Regional Elite 11 MVP and all-state performer. He holds almost every quarterback statistical record at Decatur High.

Neill began training quarterbacks with QB Country full time in 2014 and has managed the Birmingham and North Alabama areas since. He has trained hundreds of quarterbacks at all levels, from youth football to the NFL, and currently trains more than 30 scholarship QBs. He trained and led NFL Draft Prep for former Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback Devlin Hodges, the FCS all-time passing leader and 2018 Walter Payton Award-winner at Samford. He has led draft prep for a number of others, including Taylor Powell (Eastern Michigan), Alex Hornibrook (Wisconsin), Shea Patterson (Michigan) and Kaleb Barker (Troy). He assisted with draft prep and the pro day of AJ McCarron (Raiders/Alabama) and Jacob Coker (Alabama). He trained Carson Barnett (Samford University), Jalen Whitlow (Kentucky), and Arsenio Favor (Southern Miss) for their pro days.

Coach Sullivan praised Neill for his “great work ethic, outstanding character and strong leadership skills with the drive to succeed. Ben is a student of the game and has incredible football knowledge. Not only does he understand the X’s and O’s, he has a tremendous understanding of the fundamentals.”

Assistant Coach Stockton McGuire

Stockton attended Landmark Christian School in Fairburn, GA where he was a four-year starter at quarterback and went on to become a two-year starter at Davidson College. Upon graduation, he completed his Master in Business Administration at Samford. A world-class athlete, Stockton competed as a decathlete at Samford for two seasons after concluding his football career.

Coach McGuire has been training alongside Ben Neill in Birmingham since late 2022 and assisted with Taylor Powell’s (CFL QB) Draft Prep training in 2023. Stockton has trained with notable QB coaches in the past such as Tim Zetts (Chicago Bears) and Alex Mortensen (UAB). Due to his solid foundation of quarterback mechanics and his time on the field he has proven a strong fit for QB Country’s training culture.

“Ben and QB country are the best of the best when it comes to QB training. Since I started working with Ben my freshman year of high school my ability to play the position has improved drastically. My footwork, accuracy, arm strength, knowledge of the game, and leadership have all improved and I owe it to Ben. He pushes you to improve daily and truly cares about each of his quarterbacks. I recommend Ben and QB country to anyone serious about improving their ability to play quarterback.” – Logan Burnett, Mississippi State QB

“QBC has helped me to grow as a quarterback and a man. I have become a much better player as a result of training with Coach Neill. The individualized workouts help me work on the skills and fundamentals I need to work on the most. Most importantly, QBC has taught me how to become a leader. I have learned the proper way to handle the platform associated with the quarterback position.” – Hamp Sisson, Furman QB

“If it weren’t for QB Country I would be nowhere close to where I am today. I have not yet to be in an in-game situation that I was not mentally or physically prepared for by training with Coach Neill.” – Gavin Griffin, West Alabama QB

“Qb country gives you both the mental and physical approach it takes to play Qb at a high level. They are outstanding coaches that love the game and great men.” – Zac Thomas, App State
