Stephen Garcia was born and raised in Tampa (Lutz), Florida and was a 3 year starting quarterback at Jefferson High School from 2004-2006. He broke all of Hillsborough County’s passing records while in high school with 83 career touchdown passes and over 8,000 career passing yards. He Jefferson to the State Championship as a sophomore in 2004 and went deep into the playoffs his junior and senior seasons.

After committing to the University of South Carolina, he graduated high school early and enrolled at SC in January of 2007. After red shirting his first year and playing sparingly as a redshirt, he was announced the starting quarterback as a sophomore and threw for over 2800 yards and accounted for 23 touchdowns and led the SEC with 239 completions. That year SC beat #4 ranked Ole Miss which was only the 2nd time in school history SC beat a top 5 team. Stephen’s Junior year he threw for over 3000 yards and accounted for 27 touchdowns as South Carolina won the SEC East and beat a #1 ranked team for the first time in the school’s long history (Alabama). He was only the 3rd quarterback in school history to throw for over 3000 yards. He was named 3rd team all SEC that year behind Cam Newton and Ryan Mallet.

After graduating with a degree in sociology and minoring in psychology, Stephen finished his career 3rd in South Carolina history for passing yards and completions, and 2nd in total touchdowns. He played a season in the CFL in 2012, and then in 2014 played with the Tampa Bay Storm in the AFL.

Stephen was coached by 2 of the most respected Quarterback Coaches in all of football in Steve Spurrier and Mark Trestman. Combining his playing experience and the coaching he received, Stephen brings a wealth of knowledge, as well as ups and downs that will help him relate, teach and mentor QB’s at any level.
