Coach Charlie Taaffe

Charlie Taffe is the former offensive coordinator and quarterbacks coach at the University of Central Florida. Over his last three seasons, Taffe led a UCF offense that won 31 games and coached 2013 AAC Player of the Year, Blake Bortles, who was the first quarterback taken in the 2014 NFL Draft.
Coach Taaffe has more than 40 years of college and professional coaching experience. He was head coach of The Citadel from 1987-1996, setting the program record for victories. In 1992 the Bulldogs went 11-2 and Taaffe was named the Eddie Robinson Coach of the Year. He also served as head coach of the Canadian Football League’s Montreal Alouettes from 1997-2000 and was named CFL Coach of the Year in 1999 and 2000. Taaffe’s coaching tenure also includes stints as offensive coordinator and/or quarterbacks coach at Army, Maryland and Virginia. He is a member of the Siena College Athletic Hall of Fame.
