High-profile QBs square off in Thompson vs. Hoover

Thompson quarterback Conner Harrell and Hoover QB Bennett Meredith will lead the Alabama All-Stars against Mississippi in December.
Before that, however, the two seniors will face off Friday night at the Hoover Met in a game that will decide the Class 7A, Region 3 championship. It also could be the first of two meetings between top-ranked Thompson and No. 2 Hoover in the next month.
“It’s no coincidence those two guys were chosen to play in the Alabama-Mississippi game,” said Ben Neill, who trains quarterbacks in the Birmingham area for QB Country. “They are clearly having two of the best seasons in the state. Both teams are undefeated. Both guys are leading their teams well. These guys are really gifted on the field and have high character off it. You can’t ask for two better individuals.”
