Putting your $ where your mouth is! The Peyton Harville & Jovear James story

 In Latest News

Peyton Harvill was driving one day in a part of town he normally doesn’t drive. He saw a young man throwing a football to himself. The kid looked the part….athletic, strong, etc…but he had no one to throw the ball to. For whatever reason, Peyton (who is a former QB/Athlete at UMS) stopped and asked if he could toss the ball around with him. Kid’s name was Joevar James and he was going into his Senior year. That was in early June. Since that day, Peyton picked Joevar up, sometimes twice a week to bring him to QB Country practices…..then drove him home….all summer. This story is about much more than Football. Much more than playing Quarterback. It’s about living life urgently and listening to the stirrings of your heart. It’s about something bigger than yourself. It’s about trust and taking risks. It’s about friendship. It’s about what is good in sports…how sports bring us together. It’s stories like this and people like Joevar & Peyton that make Coaching so rewarding. Thank you Peyton & Joevar for stepping outside your comfort zones and giving us all a lesson in what really matters, being there for each other. Joevar and BC Rain play at St. Pauls tonight & he plays LB & QB. -David Morris
