TYLER JOHNSTON IS REDICULOUS!

For a kid who will go down as one of the most decorated Quarterbacks to ever play Football in the State of Alabama, Spanish Fort Quarterback Tyler Johnston is naturally humble.  But he also possesses the confidence that all the good one’s have. When asked recently about his undefeated record at Spanish Fort, he quickly responded “No, I’ve lost 2 games”.  Johnston was referring to his whole football career dating back to 2nd grade.  “And they were both in Championship games” he adds.

The soft spoken kid is widely considered around South Alabama as one of the best football players to ever come out of the area.  He started for Spanish Fort Varsity at RB his 8th grade year.  He started at LB & Safety his Freshman year.  tyler johhnstonHe became the Toro’s Quarterback his Sophomore year and is hasn’t lost since.  He’s won a State Championship and is in relentless pursuit of another one. In a world where Colleges across America are having a harder & harder time assessing, recruiting & landing “the right” Quarterback, Tyler Johnston is a can’t miss QB Prospect.  So, why the somewhat slow recruiting?  He’s 6’2, 210 and runs a 4.7 forty.  Said QB Country Founder David Morris “I think Tyler Johnston is the best Football Player on the entire Gulf Coast. He can play Quarterback anywhere and in any conference in America.  And for any Coach or evaluator out there who doesn’t think he’s a Quarterback, in my opinion, they need to go beyond the Highlight film.  Some guys have great Highlight films.  With Tyler, you can turn on any game and watch it throughout, he’s the same guy.”  Morris continued ” Playing Quarterback is about poise and production.  Leadership and trust.  If playing Quarterback is a beauty contest where the proto-type 6’4 kid wins, he may not finish in the top 10.  If playing quarterback is about leadership, toughness, intelligence, accuracy, anticipation, ball security & winning, there may not be a better Quarterback in America.  Some guys have toughness and grit.  Some guys don’t.  Some guys are humble and some aren’t.  There are some QB’s who have warrior traits….that is Tyler.  He is a leader and a fighter!  With some guys you don’t know what you’re getting all the time which makes you nervous at QB.  With Tyler you know exactly what you’re getting all the time.  You’re getting a winner and a kid who plays his best ball in big moments.”  Tyler gratefully has received offers from South Alabama, UAB, Southern Miss, Army and Navy.  He isn’t worried or consumed with recruiting though….he’s more interested in not losing………not a bad QB trait!
